Destination Ghana

Ghana formerly known as the Gold Coast, becoming independent from Britain on March 6, 1957 - the first European colony in Africa to achieve its freedom from colonial rule. The name, Ghana was taken from the ancient and sophisticated Sudanic Empire which flourished in West Africa between the 4th and 10th centuries A.D.

Kwame Nkrumah led Ghana to independence on March 6, 1957 - the first nation in Africa to regain its freedom in the 21st century. Inspired by the Pan- African thinking of W.E.B.
